Your family will take care of you
I recently received an update on some things going on in the long term care arena. One of the larger companies that specializes in long term care is called Long Term Care Financial Partners. This is one of the fastest growing businesses in the insurance industry. In 2006 LTCFP decided to donate 2% of their profits to a poject called Rabour Village Project. It’s mission is to to partner with communities in rural Africa as they develop sustainable solutions to overcome the challenges of poverty and HIV/AIDS.
At first I was confused as to why this would be coming to me as something of interest about long term care aside from the fact that Long Term Care Financial Partners was involved. Then I watched a YouTube video about a 14 year old young man that had lost both his parents and a sister to HIV/AIDS, and is now the head of a household caring for his brother and sister. You can watch the video here.
We talk a lot on this blog about caregiving and what that entails, but it hit me after watching this short video that caregiving is a universal concept and one that is accepted without question by those who love and care about you. We’re blessed to live in a country that provides such an abundance of options. That’s not the case everywhere, but it doesn’t change the the truth that your family will take care of you.
